BIG IDEAS
And the drive to make them happen.
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m an intense and energetic person who pursues big ideas. Projects that will leave a mark and improve our communities.
That’s why I’m running for county legislature in District 7 of Broome County.
To bring new ideas to the table. To take on projects that others would avoid.
To improve our communities.
District 7 is now comprised of the part of the Little Italy section of Endicott, and the entirety of the town of Maine. Neighborhoods in our district have received little to no attention from investors, government agencies, and grant funders. This needs to change.
For the last 15+ years, I’ve worked with countless local businesses to help them operate more effectively. I’ve helped numerous nonprofits save money. I’ve also been a part of raising millions of dollars in funding.
I know the struggles of small business firsthand – for the last eight years I’ve been self-employed.
I’m ready to put those skills to work at the county level.
I’ve been part of LUMA for 8 years
National newspapers and media outlets write about LUMA every year. Tens of thousand of people gather from across the country to see art from world class artists. For seven years I managed a projection site each year. Start last year, I moved to be in charge of the dozens of food and craft vendors that add so much to the festival.
I’ve helped build our community playgrounds
Playgrounds aren’t just about play; they help kids develop social skills, creativity, problem solving, and many other benefits that lay the foundation of becoming tomorrow’s leaders.
Starting with being the acting “Crew Chief” for OurSpace at Rec park, the largest fully inclusive playground in the north east, then continuing on to the Super Cooper Playground, Stewart Park Playground, St. John School Playground, OurSpace playground rebuild, Deposit Community Park Playground, and the Waverly Park Playground.
I helped bring back the JC Holiday Parade
Because of my skills, I was asked to join this committee. Not only did we bring back a beloved holiday tradition, we made it even bigger and attracted a massive crowd to downtown.
Other big projects I’m part of
My big impact on our economy
60%
increase in counseling sessions during my first two terms on the board at Samaritan Counseling Center. This is tens of thousands of dollars in revenue every year.
$3,000,000+
in grant funding secured by various non-profits that I’ve been a part of.
30%
increase in NET revenue as chair of the fundraising committee at Samaritan Counseling Center.
contributed to our local economy from organizations I am a part of. Much of this is money coming into our area from across the country.
Broome Tech Park
Tech parks in general can be a good thing, but this one has some severe flaws.
